Will You Walk a Mile in Their Boots to Support Kids Undergoing Cancer Treatment?

on July 21, 2017

For over three years, The Toby Keith Foundation has been welcoming guests to OK Kids Korral. The Korral is a place to call home during cancer treatments. Each family has their own story and their journey is often long and hard. So, to honor the children’s strength and support all the family members, we want to literally walk a mile in boots as we pay tribute to their cancer journey.

Long-term treatment requires long-term strength. Parents and children need to rest to be able to face the next round of treatment. When finances are an extra stress, OK Kids Korral alleviates the need to travel; saving thousands of dollars a year on gas, hotels, food and more.

You can help these kids, too. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This September 30, The Toby Keith Foundation is hosting the OK Kids Korral 5K and A Mile in their Boots 1 mile Fun Run. Your participation helps provide support for more families. Choose the 5K Run/Walk, the 1 Mile Fun Run in your choice of boots or the Kids Boot Dash.

Participate in the event and stay after for a block party. Check out the slide, bounce house, petting zoo, train ride, vendor booths, food trucks and snow cones. Participants in the 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run receive a T-shirt and a finisher’s medal. The top three male and female runners will receive additional awards. Sign up here today to help kids as they fight cancer.
