The Right Place to Stay During Your Child’s Treatment

on January 12, 2017

The families of children battling cancer often must travel to different states to bring their child to the right treatment facility. Traveling or moving to a new place during such a harrowing time can be difficult, taking great emotional and financial tolls on the child and his or her family. It’s crucial for families to have a safe, hopeful place to stay during their children’s treatment programs. The Toby Keith Foundation’s OK Kids Korral is a wonderful safe haven for families in such trying times.

The Benefits of Staying at OK Kids Korral

OK Kids Korral is a cost-free and comfortable home for child and adolescent cancer patients and their families. Families who stay at OK Kids Korral benefit from:

  • A sense of community. Bringing families together in an environment where they can feel hopeful and watch their kids have a good time can do wonders for emotional wellbeing. Keeping families strong and together during hard times can comfort sick children and make all the difference during treatment.

  • Comfort in times of pain. Families enjoy private suites, a gourmet kitchen, beautiful indoor and outdoor eating areas, family-friendly living rooms, and a family resource room. Children benefit from numerous play areas designed for all age groups, a game room, teen area, relaxation garden, and movie theater. Everything is 100% free for families.

  • Convenience and communication. The goal at OK Kids Korral is to enable parents and families to be there for their children. Our close proximity to major treatment centers allows families to stay in touch with children or family members at the hospital, and fast travel if anything happens. We encourage connections between families in our family resource center to learn as much as possible about each child’s condition.

When your family stays at OK Kids Korral, you have the freedom to focus all your energies on your child. There’s no worrying about the cost of your stay or the length of time you need accommodations – families are welcome as long as the child needs treatment. For more information about OK Kids Korral, contact us online or by calling (405) 271-6552.
